I am the leader of a team dedicated to provide the support which leads to what we truly believe, “a client’s success is our success”.  They are a vital part of our client relationship. I am the fifth of six children born into a farming family.  Growing up meant hard work, timelines and getting the job done.  I obtained a degree in agricultural economics from the University of Alberta with a concentration on macroeconomics.

Macroeconomics examines economy-wide trends such as changes in employment rates, national income, rate of growth, gross domestic product, inflation and price levels.  Upon completing University in 1980 I worked for a lending institution for fourteen years as a credit advisor.  A passion for investing and a desire to help people reach their financial goals led to a career as a investment advisor in 1994.  My farming background instilled the work ethic that I bring, along with my team, to my business today.

I have completed numerous investment courses which have accredited me with the designations of FCSI(Fellowship of Canadian Securities Institute), CFP®(CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®), CIM(Chartered Investment Manager) all of which led me to becoming a Portolio Manager.  In addition to my registration as an investment advisor, I also hold a life insurance license and an accident and sickness license that assists in client planning.

I have been in the investment industry since 1996 working with clients to grow their wealth and help educate them.  I joined Bill in 2010 with the opportunity to offer my clients a broader range of investment opportunities and the synergies of working with a larger team.  I use my strengths in technology and research to help the team manage the infrastructure of the business to better serve our clients.  For discretionary accounts I run the Portfolio Rebalancing Software, and operate our financial planning software to help clients project and plan for the future.  One of my passions is educating clients about all matters related to money and finance and at 12 years old could be found reading the business page of the Edmonton Journal.  I took the accounting stream at N.A.I.T. but I found the investment and finance classes much more compelling and interesting than balancing debits and credits which lead me to the career I have now.

I have been in the investment industry since 1993. I grew up working hard on our family farm and enjoying sporting activities and being part of a team.

I obtained a University of Alberta degree in Commerce with accounting major. My first job out of University was with an accounting and tax firm. I also worked for a property development company and professional hockey teams.

My journey to the Financial Services industry has been rich and varied, beginning in 1995 in the accounting department of an Insurance company. I had just finished NAIT’s Radio and Television Arts Program and was working as a Lifeguard and Swimming Instructor. Insurance and accounting offered me a completely new perspective on life and career choices, and I eventually became a Personal Lines Underwriter.

Over the years, my husband and I owned and operated martial arts schools and enjoyed many different business and recreational pursuits. When he changed careers to become a Financial Advisor I was ready for a new adventure as his partner. As we built our business over the next 20 years, I broadened my existing administrative and client relations skills, and developed new and exciting ones. After selling the business, I found myself missing the industry, so I joined Bill’s dynamic team. Serving others has always been, and will continue to be, an integral part of my family, work, and community life. Whether it’s been work or volunteering, I have offered clients and colleagues solid organizational skills, collaborative teamwork, respectful communication, and a contagious enthusiasm for “making a difference”.
